Sarkar's response to Smith has generated an interest and a discussion of the population question. Because these are by-and-large comments they do not lend themselves to be published as posts in Our Place in the World. But they nonetheless raise questions that I am sure readers of Smith's essay and Sarkar's response may share or like to know about or respond to. I urge the interested reader to view and join the discussion on the SCnCC Forum. Click on Smith's essay title which is now the first from the top (this will change if a new essay is posted for discussion), you will see the discussion and can add your voice to it.
